TaskRabbit is a great idea. I liken it to personal assistants people hire to perform the mundane tasks they refuse to do for themselves. I liken it to temp hires.
TaskRabbit is a great idea. In a day an age when people are busy trying to raise a family and working more than one job, it is worth it to many folks to pay someone to perform necessary tasks that may get in the way of doing something even bigger.
Think, dog walkers. People pay a small but consistent fortune to have a person walk their dog 2 or 3 times a day so their pooch can pee-pee and poop poop. Think, hiring someone to clean out your garage. Think, hiring someone to water your plants.
If people take a moment and think about all of the small but necessary errands they have to run to live but always have a hard time getting around to performing, you would realize just how many opportunities there are for a TaskRabbit.
I am thinking the following make great tasks for a TaskRabbit:
• Grocery shopping – milk, coffee, bread, cold cuts, toilet paper, paper towels • Returning books to the library • Picking up dry cleaning • Doing laundry • Shopping for incidentals • Walking dogs • Handyman type of work around the house
I am sure everyone has their own list of “things-to-do”.
What a simple and neat idea.
Since, TaskRabbit excepts responsibility for vetting their TaskRabbits, theoretically a customer would not have to worry about personal safety or security. TaskRabbit’s cost of operating insurance must be huge.
I do not think this would be possible if it were not for the Internet. The web allows users to easily contact TaskRabbit for help. I get the impression that TaskRabbit is able to respond to those in need of help in a timely fashion.
