I have tried to cut Bartz some slack.  It is tough to go into a situation where the last CEO blew off a great deal only to see his company crater.

Granted, Bartz made several huge gaffes.  Stupid?  Yes.   However, Bartz was always considered something of a wild card.  What made the board of directors for Yahoo think she was going to be any different in Yahoo or even fix Yahoo?

Now I wanted to give Bartz a shot so I just watched what was going on.  I had no confidence in Yang’s ability to reverse his massive mistakes, which were largely the reasons why Yahoo lost a chance to be acquired by Microsoft.  Turning  around a company as busted as Yahoo was and still is was and still is a nearly impossible task.  I was curious if Bartz could actually fix this broken company.

The fact that it took Bartz almost 2 years to figure out her own company is an unpleasant surprise.  Then again it was probably good she said something because it pretty much confirmed everyone’s worse fears about her.

Well now that Carol Bartz is gone what shall Yahoo’s board do now; look for a buyer?

If the board is looking for a buyer, who in the world will they find to permanently take over as CEO?  Who would want the job?

I have another question ... Is Yahoo a portal or a technology company? They seem to flip on this question and seem to lack direction.

That is an excellent question. In my opinion, right now its a portal company. If they want to be a technology company; well that train may have already left the station.

The company is basically in distress; rudderless, losing stock value, and leaderless.

Will be interesting to see if the Yahoo board wants to pick this fight. Not really a good idea calling the board "doofuses".

Ms. Bartz; REALLY!?!? Come on. Could you have not gone out in such a classless way? Its bad enough media writers and analysts are talking about how you got fired but do you have to add fuel to the fire and show the critics they were right?

Holy smokes. The best way to show up the critics is to go off and prove them wrong.

Yeah, I know there are folks who think the way she went out is the way she went in; as a fighter and right to the point! Frankly, grown CEO's don't act like children, you can tell people off without having to resort to foul language. What is it we tell children; don't resort to foul language, it can lead to an escalting and out of control situation where people can get hurt. Come ON!! Grow up.

Then again if this is her way of showing the world the board has no guts to take her cash then maybe it was a good idea? Oh boy. Going away quietly is still smarter.
