Bloomberg: Deutsche Telekom to Offer IPhone 5 Reservation as of Today
Deutsche Telekom AG (DTE) will allow customers to reserve the next generation of Apple Inc. (AAPL)’s iPhone as of today in anticipation of supply bottlenecks for the device, spokesman Alexander von Schmettow said by phone.

The operator will hand out coupons to people who expressly request the successor model to the iPhone 4, without providing the name or release details of the device, he said.

iPhone 5 manufacturing kicks off without iOS 5, report claims

Apple’s manufacturing partners have reportedly begun assembling the iPhone 5 according to a new report from Macotakara, which has a mixed track record. The report follows news from this morning that German Apple carrier partner Deutsche Telekom has already begun pre-sales of the next-generation Apple smartphone. Foxconn, which will supposedly handle roughly 85% of iPhone 5 production, and Pegatron, which has picked up a contract for the remaining 15%, are said to have ramped up assembly ahead of Apple’s official announcement of the device, which is expected as soon as next week. Citing information from an anonymous source, the report also notes that finished devices are not yet being packaged, as the release build of iOS 5 has not yet been finalized.

I like it. Though it is not clear from this picture is it has curved edges like 3G/3Gs or industrial bricks design from 4...

It may be a curved brick design...

All descriptions (rumors) talk about a beveled edge.

It appears that it will be dual mode GSM / CDMA world phone and most likely not have LTE :-(

Guess they aren't ready for the power hungry LTE.

Power may not be the only constraint for the LTE. AT&T does not know how to handle even 3G and their LTE network is almost unnoticeable. Verizon's LTE is not huge either. I'll be very surprised seeing LTE in the iPhone 5, knowing how conservative Apple historically was wit the provider's capability to deliver quality service.
