Tim Cook sees Made-In-America in Apples Future.
Discussion
The Wall
In the interview with Brian Williams of NBC News, Tim Cook talks about a future Mac PC being Made-In-America. An additional interesting bit of information was about the iPhone containing components like the Gorilla Glass being Made-In-America in Kentucky.
Tim Cook ... "You know, this iPhone, as a matter of fact; the engine in here is made in America. And not only are the engines in here made in America, but engines are made in America and are exported. The glass on this phone is made in Kentucky. And we've been working for years on doing more and more in the United States. Next year,...

K'NEX a Very Cool Toy for Christmas
Blog
A lot of fun to put together for my 10 year old Son and I (with a little help from my 8 year old daughter) was the KNEX Collect Build Amusement Park Series #2 Corkscrew Coaster. I was a little worried when I saw that the item had 300 parts, but my son is so in to Roller Coaster that I just had to buy it for his birthday. Now, it just so happened that the day that the Coaster arrived from Amazon was the day that I saw on ABC Nightly News a segment showing President Obama touring the KNEX factory. I was so happy to hear that I could find a good quality toy that was Made-In-America. Looking t...

PEZ Candy a part of America for over 50 years
Blog
PEZ candy was invented in Vienna, Austria in 1927 by Eduard Haas III. Originally invented as a breath mint the name PEZ comes from the German word for peppermint, pfefferminz, taking the P from the first letter, E from the middle, and Z from the last letter. In 1952, the U.S. subsidiary was established in New York City and obtained a patent for their unique dispensers. In 1974 the U.S. company headquarters relocated to Orange, Connecticut and the PEZ Visitor Center is located at 35 Prindle Hill Rd, Orange, CT 06477 (admission is $5.00 for adults and $4.00 for Children 3-12). COLOR! that's the trend today...
Blog
Fiesta Ware proudly manufactured in the U.S.A. Since 1871. With this ceramic dinnerware why limit yourself to a monochrome table setting, mix and match from the wide selection of bright colors. As an early Homer Laughlin Company brochure stated: "COLOR! thats the trend today..." and it went on to say, "It gives the hostess the opportunity to create her own table effects....... Plates of one color, Cream Soups of another, contrasting Cups and Saucers....its FUN to set a table with Fiesta!" The Homer Laughlin China Company of Newell, West Virginia began as Laughlin Pottery in East L...

Let Them Eat Cake! Bundt Cake ...
Blog
Talk about a classic American manufacturer. Nordic Ware was founding in 1946 and has been making cookware and bake ware products for over 60 years. I first saw the company featured on ABC news and finally got around to checking them out. It was interesting to learn that 2 out of 3 American households own and use Nordic Ware product thats great! Nordic Ware is the brand that created the Bundt pan which was invented back in 1950. Nearly 60 million Bundt pans have been sold in the United States. Still family owned, Nordic Ware is located in Minneapolis, Minnesota with a large shipping and...

Radius Tooth Brush - Made in Kutztown, Pennsylvania
Blog
A great product thats American Made. The original tooth brush designed by Radius happened in the Caribbean island of Tortola by James OHalloran and Kevin Foley. The founders took control of their manufacturing and renovated an old Mill in Kutztown, Pennsylvania in 1988. The 20,000 square foot mill, built in 1863, was restored into a very beautiful workplace, where all RADIUS toothbrushes are manufactured. My Kids love the Scuba toothbrush The original idea for this product came from fascination with injection molded rubber. This material is bendy and non-slip, two qualities that are pe...

Remember the feeling of excitement you had as a kid when riding a new bike?
Blog
BOWERY LANE BICYCLESa truly amazing find ... not only Made-In-America, but made in New York City! Im in the market for a new bicycle and have been searching for one that was Made-In-America. To my complete surprise I found Bower Lane Bicycles in New York City. Their website states:Ninety-nine percent of bikes sold in the US are not made in America. We are a part of the 1%. Our bicycles are welded, painted, assembled, packed and shipped in New York City. No big assembly lines, no mass production, no robots. Human hands. American Hands. Our bikes are made with pride by a family owned and ...

A Good Week To Be Out On the Water In A Chris-Craft
Blog
Chris-Craft Boats began in 1922 and was founded by Christopher Columbus Smith and his three sons. The company started in Algonac, Michigan and remained in the family until around 1960 and has changed hands several times since. We happy to say that the Chris-Craft brand is still a 100% American Made Boat with Headquarters and Production now in Sarasota, FL. A very interesting book about the original Chris-Craft Company Building Chris-Craft: Inside the Factories written by Anthony Mollica and Chris Smith (founding family) is worth having a look for those that love boating. The title does ...
