benchmarking opportunity

I just recently became aware of a similar offering called Scoutlander.
I have not yet spend any time with Scoutlander, but wanted to make this aware to the developer pros at Tabup.com

With only a quick perusal, I only see two major feature differences between Tabup and Scoutlander.

1. Scoutlander claims to offer a searchable database of 'lessosn learned' [see their Tour page #1]

2. Scoutlander claims to offer ways to track the RSVP headcount for a scheduled event, plus keep track of who has made payment for the event cost [see their Tour page #3]

Again, I have registered at Scoutlander and thus have not verified these claims.
This is just an FYI to the Tabup development team, as potential benchmarking ideas to strengthen an already great product.

The Wall
tabUp's calendar feature allows for group members to "accept" or "decline" the event. In effect adding a group event to a users private calendar. Clicking on the event will give you a total for the number of group members who have accepted this event.

All discussions (talkabouts) in tabUp are searchable.

tabUp's general concept is that all events, photos, tasks, etc. lead to additional discussion. With tabUp you not only have a way to share group activity, but have a place to discuss what is going on with your group. For groups like Scouting we see a need for more task oriented features (i.e. going camping, need to organize the event and stuff to bring along on the trip).

Many of our users are part of several groups in their daily lives and enjoy having the ability to organize these communications in one place. Creating tabs for family, scouting, neighborhood organizations, etc. We are happy to hear you are test driving tabUp and very much appreciate the feedback. Through feedback we are best able to identify which features would help you in managing and organizing your group.

Items requested by other users and on our list:

1) ads free tabs (subscription)

2) expanded list / task function (i.e. work flow)

3) dues / membership collection

4) mobile App (iphone / android)
